No rattles or squealing from the motor. Second, it is overkill for my needs. The first time using it did put a load on the 5Ah battery and motor but after that it goes through my small amount of sidewalk and driveway with ease. I let my neighbor use it and he thought it was a waste of money but not me. It works great.
