Leaves were out and green, and root system looks great, well pruned. Only time will tell (once it fruits next year) if this is actually authentic Whinham's Industry. (Gooseberries are notorious for being mis-identified especially here in the states.) But I am extremely pleased and HIGHLY recommend this seller. Thanks Gavin!

Vendor communication is excellent and willing to guide a beginner like me. I didn't have a trellis and hole ready yet to plant but hope to do it soon. Meantime in a 5 gallon bag w potting soil. Came packaged well wrapped in wet brown paper bare root in a plastic bag. This was a multi plant order and shipping cost per plant scaled down..
