        Very Capable Reel

        For the money spent this is a fine reel, IMO, and it's still a Penn. I haven't used it yet, but it seems sturdy and well made. The round power handle knob is a nice touch. Line retrieval is smooth and fast. Even so I added 5-6 drops of my favorite reel oil to it, making it even smoother. All functions work as they should. The HT-100 drag system has a wide range and strong top end, capable of slowing/stopping big fish, and the anti-reverse is instant. I managed to get 130-140 yards of 80 lb. braid on the spool, plenty for the king salmon this reel will see next summer. I have since picked up another 5000 and 6000 version as I like what I'm seeing with these reels.

        Reels has landed me many fish 1 to 15 lbs

        I had one for about 7 months now and ordered another for backup as well as my partner. You can handle big fish with this from 8lbs to 20 something as long as you have line to let it run
