You'll barely notice that all of this is coming from a slim cable, which is attaching the headphones to your media device's output jack. In addition to the high-quality output, you can also use the same set of headphones to make calls to friends or family. A simple pinch of the in-cord controls allows you to use your compatible iPhone to call out, answer, and end phone calls. You can also use the in-line remote controls to change the volume levels or control music and video playback. Skip tracks, stop, or rewind quickly and easily. The Earpods are flexible and versatile enough to be used by many electronic accessories, including those that do not come from Apple. The basic media output feature of the Apple EarPods is compatible with all brands of mp3 players, tablets, cell phones, and other accessories that have a 3.5mm jack. The remote and mic to answer phone calls are compatible with all models of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Most models of the iPhone and iPod will also support the volume control. Compatible software versions for this device are 1.0.3 for the 4th generation nano, 2.0.1 for the 120GB classic, and 2.2 or later for the 2nd generation touch. Possible applications for the earbuds include listening to music, playing a video game, or enjoying an audiobook on a long commute. In addition to good sound quality, they feature noise isolation, which allows you to drown out environmental noise and focus on your device. They will also help prevent sound leakage, ensuring that those around you won't be disturbed or hear what you're playing. The earphones are easy to use and clean, and they are durable, ensuring comfort and extended use. With an audio cable that is 3.9 feet long, there is plenty of room to comfortably place your media device in a jacket pocket.
