        Scientific Anglers System1 678 Fly Reel

        Simple, inexpensive, click pawl style reel. Small, compact, and not heavy. Easy to clean, maintain, and keep in fine operating condition. The black unported body version comes with a spool that has a drag gear made of metal. That spool can be identified by its 2 rows of holes. Only that version of this reel will be dependable, durable, and a great value. The ported black body version comes a spool that has a dark gray PLASTIC drag gear, which will crack apart very easily with use. That particular version can be identified by its tell tale 3 rows of holes. It is very poorly made and is a bad item at any price, something I learned the hard way after owning a few of those spools whose plastic gear broke apart with normal usage. I do not recommend the ported body version with the 3 ...
