Was a little concerned when the package arrived, because the side of the box where the tester's handle was, bulged outward. Much to my amazement there doesn't appear to be any shipping damage. So, no harm done with the slightly undersized box. The described "dead" symptom was a combination of a flakey on/off switch and a power cord that was open unless you held the plug end of the cord just right.
