Starring Brad Pitt, Meet Joe Black is the culmination of 2 decades of preparation on the part of director-producer Martin Brest and was inspired by a character from the 1920's stage play adapted for the screen in 1934 as Death Takes a Holiday. The score is by Grammy and Academy Award nominated (The Shawshank Redemption, Unstrung Heroes) composer Thomas Newman. In addition to the score, there is a new song from Grammy-winner Erykah Badu (worked to multiple radio formats).

    Great songs in the movie that don't make the CD

    So many wonderful songs in the movie that were NOT included on the CD. "Let's Face the Music and Dance", "Our Love is Here to Stay", "Can't Help Lovin' That Man", "Dancing Cheek to Cheek", "Anything Goes", "Top Hat, White Tie and Tails", "Lovely to Look at", "Isn't This a Lovely Day," "Where or When:, and "You're Getting to be a Habit with Me." Lot's of back ground music; "Whisper of a Thrill" was my favorite.
