      Portable CD Player for Audio Books

      The Sony D-E456CK Disc Man is perfect for playing Audio Books. The pause feature allows you to continue the story where you stopped. You can also move forward or reverse within a track without having to start each track from the beginning.

      Gave it a shot.

      Power works, spins the disc, doesn't read it. There's a 'beep' when you turn the power on or off, but you press the forward or back buttons and the track number changes, but no sound. The colon in the time view flashes, but no numbers ever start counting, not even "00:00". Tried regular cd's, recorded cd's, mp3 cd's, no change. But the power cord and cassette adapter both work, I can use the power cord with other devices, and a rechargeable mp3 player that works with the cassette adapter, so at least I'm not limited to broadcast radio in my truck.
