I was using the lower heat cheap irons and they never got the work area hot enough quick enough to unsolder or solder without damaging traces on circuit cards. heat tool works great as well for heat shrink tubing or desoldering IC chips. This kit gives you all you need out of the box to set up a soldering station. Thanks!

Other than that, the rest is pretty straight forward and the system works great. Can't speak of longevity yet but so far so good. The de-solder pump is a little chintzy but that's not what i bought this unit for so who cares, it does work. The extra elements and spool of solder are a nice bonus. There are better units out there but for the money, this is a great setup. Fast ship. Thanks much! Cheers.
