    ThermoPro TP-08

    This is my second one. We have a smoker at home, and another up at our Lake Cabin. We have replaced 2 Maverik Redi Chek units with these. These are much better, easier to turn on off, these have a switch on the front, you do not have to open the battery compartment. These are accurate within spec, the smoker probe runs at 211° boiling water (did not submerge as they even caution do not), food probe was at 212 and no do not submerge in water. The settings on this unit will save for next use after power down, unlike the Maverik. I love the rubber cushion on the housings, not that I drop them but it does help them stick a bit better to table ext.

    Disappointing & Hard to Read

    Big thermometer with very small numbers. Very difficult to read the display in kitchen or outdoor lighting: black LCD characters on gray background of an unlit display. Takes to too long to register the temperature. It has a cheap wire stand that's fell off the first time I used it. I have a battery operated Weber bbq thermometer that beats it in every way. Not happy, but I guess I'm stuck with another Chinese product once again. Would not recommend this product and would not buy any other ThermoPro product. I get the feeling this review probably won't be shown anywhere.

    Great tool to control your kamado style BBQ

    ThermoPro TP-08S Wireless Remote Meat Thermometer w Dual Probe. Using Kamato Grill this thermometer is essential, it gives you an idea what is going on under the ceramic top, It allows you to control the heat inside, and check the temp. of the meat/vegetables that are cooked inside, whiteout lifting the top. the 2 probs are enough one for the girl grates, and the other for what is cooking. You can adjust the thermometer to beep when the meat temperature get to your high limit. The remote works well, so you can stand 30ft away, not next to the smoking grill
