    I bought two of these poles for my US and Michigan flags in my office. So far, so good. Although the shrink wrap around the topper was difficult to rip off, assembly was otherwise pretty quick. The display is indoors, so I did not need to use sand in the base; therefore, I won't comment about whether or not the base holds sand well as a weight.

    These were much lighter weight than I had anticipated, even when filling the bases with sand; otherwise, the product is satisfactory if one were hanging a very lightweight flag on it.
