    Great Game, Poorly packaged. In the end, not a good value.

    This is a big board. Could be good for a display piece. It does not pack away very well due to the size and that is OK. I did not realize how large it was! I looked for a little while and this is the one I felt was the best value. I like the drawers for storing the pcs, the pcs are well cut and I like the real wood. As it turns out, the number of sample defects actually makes this not a great value. There were 3 defect -- There was a small chip underneath the final finish on the playing surface (the finish is very thin, I might give it a spray of PUR in the future.) -- 2 pieces came with the felt bottom which was not centered on the piece (an easy fix) -- The biggest is the packaging did not protect it during shipping. It came damaged. The packaging is too thin for the size the of the ...

    Great packaging

    This chessboard with chessmen was packaged in a box inside a box in that box foam piece’s surrounding the hole thing. all the chessmen were rapped as well. I was very concerned because it’s my grandsons birthday coming in October seventh. I believe he will be so happy. I have one very similar and he’s been asking for one like mine. And yes he is a very good chess player.
