In my case, I needed a 4-way switch and single pole switch in a duplex switch configuration. There is no such thing anymore. This Vintage Despard 1940's "modular" system is perfect. I'm using it in a wall switch for controlling a ceiling fan / light. The light switch and speed control is "normal". But, the summer / winter fan direction switch as part of the wall switch control is not easy.
