    Great soft colored pencil

    These pencils have a really good color, and they're a great colored pencil to get started practicing layering and all that stuff. All the colors in this set are great (except for violet, but that's apparently an issue with that color across several brands), and the variation should be about what you need to get started. Fair warning: prismacolors can often have broken leads, which some people suggest fixing by baking them to melt the binder back together. That is not actually going to work with these (I've tried). What finally did fix the problem was using a really sharp sharpener, so I haven't had a single problem with a broken lead since I started using my sharpest one. These give you great bang for your buck, so if you're just getting started they're a great choice.

    PrismaColor Is STILL the BEST

    This set of PrismaColor colored pencils is of top quality and is not matched at all by other brands. I wouldn't own any other brand and type of colored pencil than these pencils. They are made of top quality materials and come ready to use right out of the blister-pack. They sharpen without the "lead" crumbling or chipping off constantly. The color quality that comes out on the medium used is stunning and I am extremely pleased. I have used PrismaColor colored pencils for decades and they have always been top quality and this set is no exception to that. I would recommend these pencils to anyone who is serious about their colored pencil artwork or for someone that is getting their youth student started in the world of colored pencil art. They make an excellent gift for such young people ...
