The light at the end of the arm can also be swiveled 180 deg in both directions. It has a nice feature of color temperature range: white daylight down to softer yellower setting easier on the eyes. It has a slider for brightness which is good. I use it for examining small items, for highlighting items I am selling in pictures, and for photographing artwork. It is very bright if you need it.
