      Value of tire characteristics

      These tires are notoriously reviewed as being comfortable but lacking durability. Just a couple thoughts after having used multiple sets of the Vittoria Corsa Cx's, Continental Grand Prix's, Schwalbe One's, etc. Puncture resistance is highly circumstantial in my observation - riding through debris always subjects you to the chance of puncture no matter how 'durable' the tire is. Also, people vary on the importance they place on ride comfort, and tire longevity. Cotton cased tires definitely offer a noticeable improvement in ride quality - less vibration, chatter etc. However, the cotton is more subject to abrasion, and typically they might wear out a tad sooner than one that emphasizes durability. In my opinion, how and where you ride has a much bigger impact on tire life than which ...

      Road Miles

      The Open Corsa rolls true,is about as puncture resistant as any high performance tire can be. I get roughly 1,500 miles on the rear and 2,000 miles on the front. Excellent on wet pavement. Worth the dollar.

      Top drawer stuff

      These tires are fantastic. I like the classic look and the sidewall is very supple. The ride with latex tubes was a big change from my old tires. Love them. I can't give them a full review as I live in Dallas. There are no mountains to descend and I don't ride crazy crits. For my solo riding on the flats these tires are much better than my olds ones so that's all I can say.
