It is slightly on the thinner side, but it holds its edge well and shows no signs of warping even when doing actual "cleaving". The wooden handle helps balance the blade well. For the price, the knife is an amazing value. Definitely worth it if you know how to take care of your knives.

This is a weighty knife only because the blade is larger (8 5/8” X 4.25”) than the more common 8”X3” size blade, its thickness at the spine being only 2mm. One should stick to using this knife strictly with fruits, veggies, and boneless meat. The knife came out of the box very, very sharp. After washing it, I sliced through pounds of flank steak and a mound of veggies for dinner. It was wonderful.
