    Great after a little mod

    The way it's designed it will not throw a consistent low charge, however this is easily fixed by filling the front in with a little jb weld. This helps line the charge bar up with the hole in the powder hopper. I have two of these modded this way and they allow me to get those low powder charges that you cannot get with the disks. If your not afraid of a little extra work don't hesitate to get one of these, as it's much cheaper than a different powder dispenser.

    Cheap enough not to expect total perfection...

    It seemed to work fine on standard 9mm loads, but I had some trouble with standard 40S&W load consistency using it with the Lee Pro Autodisk on my Loadmaster press. The position of the charge bar when adjusted to the desired charge was such that it created too much of a shelf for the powder to sit on (using CFE Pistol) and it would not travel down the hole into the case. This ended up leading to inconsistent loads. I tried delaying at the top of the stroke to give it time to flow but it didn't seem to matter. There's just more flat shelf than there is opening. Also, the fact that it tops out a 1.6gr makes it just about useless for rifle loads on anything beyond a light load in a .223Rem. And it can't really be combined with another disk due to the design. I'm really not sure why it was ...

    Lee Precision Adjustable Charge Bar

    This is a good cocept as most Lee products are. Problem I have is that the Instructions do not tell you WHICH MODEL OF THE POWDER MEASURER IT FITS. I have 3 all different models. The original is the one I wanted to use, but the fit does not seem correct and I do not think it will work. I bought 2 of these adjustable ones and have not had time to check out the other 2 measurers. I also noticed that one of the adjustables was easy to adjust and the other very difficult. I used Graphite powder to lube it with limited success. Time will tell if I wasted my money.

    Another great Lee product

    Nice little unit to tweak your charge weight while switching bullet weights and types while doing a mixed batch of .38. Not that it is difficult to change out the discs, this device allows you to get back to loading without having to remove and dump the powder ...just dial in your favourite charge weights and get to it. A good up-grade for the disc powder measure system.

    Lee precision auto-disk adjustable powder charge bar.

    In my experience this product is unsuitable for small volume applications such as 9mm pistol rounds. The shape of the area that holds the powder charge is irregular at the lower volume levels. Chunky or flaky powders get caught in the nooks and crannies which result in inconsistent charges. This product may function just fine with larger powder charges like rifle calibers, when the charging volume is opened up. All I can say for sure is that it was clearly not as consistent as the disks that were originally designed for this machine. Oh well, it was worth a try for the very reasonable cost of this product, but no cigar!
