    The device seems fine, although the s-video is female, and since playback devices have female video outputs, this requires use of a male-male s-video cable between them. It would make more sense if this just had a male s-video connector.

    purple banding appears after recording for over an hour straight. A power reboot to the device (unplugging and re-plugging the USB power input) seems to eliminate the purple banding. Is my device faulty or is it a limitation of the device infrastructure - I don't know. Nevertheless, for shorter periods, it seems to work well, and interface with OBS software easily. I can work with this device for the long term if this is the extent of the problems I will have with it.
