    Great Buy

    Don't expect this to be an $80 compass. But for the price it is worth every penny! Bought this as part of a survival pack for my 8 year old and he loves it!!!! Has all the features of a high dollar compass. He used this more than anything else I got him for his birthday. Would highly recommend.

    A grate "LEARNING" tool

    over all for the price its a very good young boys/girls starter compass to learn with the sight is plastic and not reall persioned the magnifying sight is not focused on the dialso it does make the dial hard to rea (i may just remove the magnifier later for my boy so he can learn how to set his bearings correctly)the dial is stiff to turn witch means it wont get knocked off course by accident and the face is very distinctive. A grate "LEARNING" tool since the case is metal it can hold up to a childs mishaps

    great learning tool

    i purchased the compasses to hand out to unsuspecting adolescents in restaurants.. i am selective to who gets them. i preface the gifts by telling the boy or girl in the presence of their parent that einstein had not interest in science or mathmatics until his father gave him a compass to tinker with. it stirred his imagination. this compass does everything to teach the adolescent everything he needs to know. the response has been more than i expected. i do this for the pure joy on these kids faces. scjhools do not teach kids anything of value these days. most kids have no idea where the sun rises or set. thanks for an inexpensive gift for me to pass on. i will be ordering again in the near future. jeff haas

    Great for the price

    I ordered two of these. One worked fine but the other had air bubbles which interfered with the week magnetic swing. I gave the good one to my nephew who had an interest. It's a great gift for a kid to tear them away from their phone for a bit. It's well built and sturdy and it does work, although swings slowly. Don't expect the quality of the compass that it copies, but it works and is well worth the price. I also recommend getting a US surplus compass pouch, they are a couple bucks. And a topographical map. Nice little kit and a good gift for a kid.
