Self grounding divices are finicky, using a jumper wire from jack's mounting bolt to battery negative terminal solved problem but seller and directions were not helpful.

There's going to be people buying this that have no clue and will see a black wire and connect it to the neutral because it's not a red wire and it's not going to work. A simple line in the directions stating connect the black line to the positive terminal on the battery would have been nice.
