With slicker sock definitely use thumbhole tape to make your thumb nice a snug because your thumb comes out quick. With tamer material is thicker and use when thumb swells up, usually dont use thumb hole tape with tamer sock because it makes my thumb nice and snug. If you like these it will save you money over protective thumb tape that can come off while bowling. Have and will buy again.
