I'll use my best judgment & arrange the #s further away from the center so it displays larger. Directions weren't detailed & I had trouble attaching the hands to the mechanism. I played with it for a few min & figured out that carefully pushing in each hand without bending them, one at a time, they will fit where they should because the hour/sec hands each have specific hole sizes. You can't go wrong.
