They described it as slight fraying on an open box sale. They send this clump of Kevlar with the previously exposed black pieces flipped over and turned to the middle of the stack, so it was not noticeably seen in pics or when it was opened. If I didn't fully check the package of panels, they might have got away with it. Shame to ruin your name over $40.
