It does run Dark Souls okay. Sometimes the color glitches while in Windows and you have to reboot. The hard drive is old but works, it's going to need a replacement and would make this mac work a lot faster. It's a difficult job because you have to remove the glass on the screen with a plunger or similar method. The only thing that is swappable is the ram but the ram is fine and maxed out already I think. I put Snow Leopard on it because I wanted to experience something like OS Tiger and Panther from my past and it runs better than El Capitan I think, however I think Mavericks is a good pair with this machine if you need newer software. Sometimes you have to hold down the option key because it will boot into the question mark folder. I suspect this is because the HDD is getting tired. Haven't had any full on issues but I do feel that the HDD is slower than it should be if it were new”
