    Great set of headphones

With Spring/Summer coming around I was interested in these because of the way they were designed; open-ear headphones with great audio quality. These headphones allow your ears not to get too hot when using them for numerous hours. For headphones under $100 you get your money's worth and then some when it comes to these headphones. Pros: + Incredible audio quality for $60-75 + Designed so your ears aren't feeling like they're in an oven + Comfortable for hours (8+ in my experience) + Lightweight + Wearable for hours + Open-ear-headphones (for those who need want to listen to others talk while listening to music) + Hi-Fi Cons: - Can hear external environment (for those who want to close off noisy environments such as riding the bus, family gatherings, etc.) - Cannot replace ear ...

    Sound & Comfort Improvement Necessary

The sound quality on these is great, but if I turn my music up so that it's just a little loud for me, everyone else can hear it. I wouldn't want to use these in public. Additionally, the back edges of the cushy ear part, after I've been wearing them for a long time, start to push my ears forward uncomfortably. Other than that, I'm very happy with these. They have excellent sound quality; I sometimes wear them to bed, and they don't squish my ears or put too much pressure on my fat face from the sides. The adjustability is great, so they fit just about anyone.

  • Lightweight and superb sound

I'm very pleased with these headphones. They are very comfortable and produce a very neutral sound IMHO. They are comparable to the original Grado SR-80 I bought 5 years ago. There isn't much bass in terms of "boominess" but you can hear the bass and it sounds great. Vocals are excellent and highs are a tiny bit on the bright side but I'm hoping that dissipates as I use them more. Otherwise any EQ can take care of that. They are open back so everyone is going to hear whatever you are listening to. They aren't ideal in a quite area or if you ride public transportation because I would be annoying and rude. But the open back design really opens up the soundstage. Imaging is very good as well. I'm definitely picking up another pair to keep with my bag.

  • Very good headphones

Surprising good sound for $59. Sounds warm and wide. Very good imaging and musical. Cello sounds very well and the mid and voice is very nice too. The high freq is there but not extended like the more expensive headphone (e.g. Grados and my AKG K550 Mk2). Open back, very good bass but people around can hear everything you play. I ended up brought the AKG 550 for my office use, which is closed back and higher level in sound quality than this. For the price, this is amazing how much sound is for the price. Very good buy for the money. With the 9500, a good DAC and good headphone amp can make a big different. Yes, you will hear it.

  • Huge improvement

I come from using IEMs. Specifically, apple iem that came with the iPad and Brainwavz M1. I am not an audiophile by any means, but I can even appreciate the spaciousness of the sound with the Philips SHp9500. I really like the design of these too (very practical, modern, and lightweight). The highs are very good (just like my M1s). Not very bassy - the basses sound punchy rather than deep (just like the M1s). I would say the soundstage is much better than the M1s - I guess that would be the advantage of the open-back design. I have only used it for a week, but I it is growing on me and for $64 USD is a good deal IMO.
