Engineered for long life - great base to build on - very good bang for the $$$

I had forgotten how beautifully engineered and built these Mac Pros are. I'm sure there's nothing else like it in the consumer space. Adding or changing parts is a dream. I bought this unit as a platform to upgrade. It now has dual 6 core 3.46GHz cpus, 32GB of RAM, 4 port USB-3, a Blu-Ray burner and a Samsung 512GB PCIe SSD which runs at 1400+ MBps read and write. I will add a new graphics card when Apple chooses one for the next Mac Pro, so I can run it natively. It now runs like a rocket (31,500+ Geekbench 3 up from 15,000 in 8 core form) but is deathly silent even when working at full stretch. The only issue I had with it was that the DVD drive it came with was faulty . . but I didn't care as I had already had a better drive to put in it anyway. Wrapped!

  • Great value for a great computer.

I have been searching for a used Mac Pro 2010 computer for a while and this one has worked out perfectly. It arrived quickly and booted up with no issues. I did run into one issue and the support I received was excellent. The outside case is practically perfect, I can't really find any scratches or dents. The only issue is that the optical drive door doesn't shut automatically, but if you tap the case just under the drive door, it closes right up. I've wanted one of these Mac Pros to use as my main photo editing and video editing station and it looks like it is going to work out well.

  • Good deal for lots of horsepower and bang for the buck.

Out of the box these older 2010-2012 8 core Mac pros are fast and a breeze to get up to date. DDR3 memory is cheap, for $120 you can add 64GB of ram. If you’re feeling adventurous, another $100 and some thermal paste and it’s easily upgraded to a 3.33GHz or 3.4GHz 12 core machine! Just add a $20 usb3 card and go. But it’s fine as it is without any additions. For the price you can’t buy anything better.

  • Power house if you can upgrade your self.

The basic dual CPU model is still a great workhorse. It´s way cheaper to buy this one, and do the upgrade afterwards. I´ve upgraded mine with two Xeon X5680 (3,3 GHz hex), 48 GB RAM, GTX 780, and a 480GB Kingston Predator M2. SSD. It´s now faster than the 2013 model.

  • Great machine for a great price

Upgraded my single processor 2010 Mac Pro to a dual-processor version and absolutely love these older machines because they are highly upgradeable. With the proper hardware upgrades & know how these machines can even run the latest OSes including macOS 11 Big Sur and Windows 10, even though they are NOT officially supported.
