It applies easily to my hair and I find if I wet my hair prior to application it works even better. I do have thick hair . It does need reapplying about every 4-6 weeks but in that interim the color while it softens is still remarkably noticeable. I have gray hair though was once auburn so this shade is ideal. And men are always drawn to it! Never got compliments like I now do when I was a natural auburn shade : NEVER.
