  • Best way to get your vintage laptop networked

Aside from being a Type III PCMCIA card (which means it'll take both your slots), this is the best way to get network and/or 56K modem support on a laptop too old to have them. No adapter tails to lose, no connector block sticking out of the laptop to interfere with putting it in a fitted bag, and it's a big-name product, which makes tracking down vintage drivers still fairly easy. ...plus, look at that. The visual design has aged beautifully. Just make sure that the listing hasn't confused the 16-bit PCMCIA and Cardbus models. "REM56G" with the smooth silver shield above the connector is 16-bit PCMCIA. "RBEM56G" with the dimpled gold shield above the connector is Cardbus.
