I filled the bag they came in with water- then put the bag in a plastic take-out container and filled it with water. then put the container in the refrigerator. Many of my old Sheaffer cartridges have sort of dried up and the ink isn't any good anymore. I have been refilling them with fresh ink- with a syringe. I have also made spacers for 3 of my old Sheaffers so I can use the new short cartridges- thanx
