I was able to use the factory contactor location. Wire length was very good, and I followed the factory wire routing diagram from the Yamaha manual. One tip you can put grey ring terminal together with brown wire on contactor they are both grounds and works well. This would work on any brand or model as well. Really Glad I chose this winch! BBBRRRAAAAP

I even got an extra rocker switch which really is cool for my needs. I have purchased several of these warn 4000 vantage winches and love them. I use them to lift anchor poles on a barge so I give then very heavy use and find they last longer than any other winch. The winch is plenty strong enough to even break the cable, trust me I've done that many times
