This dispenser is made for solid, bulk items - nuts, cereal, seeds....and I'm sure it works great with those. I'm using this dispenser for protein powder, which is do-able, but I have to use a large cup to catch the powder and make sure the knob is turned to specific points so the valve closes and powder doesn't fall everywhere. After a week, I've got the knack on how to do it and it works as well as I can expect.
