It's not tolex covering but something synthetic closely resembles it. Thinner wood than others and hinges look like they won't last. Tougher than a gig bag for sure. It's cheap and will protect your guitar, but I don't think it would hold up on tour or any rough handling over time. For this price, I recommend this case for someone on a budget to protect their guitar! Not bad, not great.
