    Not bad for a Beginner

    I purchased this as a gift for my nephew. It is small, lightweight and easily carried. It has an 8x zoom which is good for him. It is similar to another Nikon that he is used to (and I was unable to get before Christmas) So this was the next best choice. It has many of the same features and the picture quality is not bad. The on/off button is a bit more difficult to use, (small and in an awkward placement) but the shutter button and zoom feature are easy to use. If you decide to try this camera out, be advised that you will need to purchase a memory card as the camera can only hold three images before the internal memory is full.

    Your cellphone is better.

    I was really disappointed with the image quality... I thought that since this said it had 20.1MP it would take some really sharp vibrant pics, but I was very wrong. I'd say the quality is more like old Polaroids. The pictures are soft, grainy, and dark, unless you use the flash, but then they look blown out. If you just want something small that will slip in and out of your pocket easily, and take pictures just to document things, then this is decent, but any newer cellphone, will take a better picture.

    Great Pictures Low Durability

    This camera has the features to make an armature photographer look like a pro. However, being that it is equipped with a port fit for a mini-USB cable, it may considerably shorten the lifespan of this model. The tiny little pins can easily break if the cable is not inserted with extreme caution. Ironically, I broke the pins in my camera as I was just about to upload some pics to share in this product review. The poor connection also seemed to have reopened the lens while the power was off - which also caused it to also make it difficult to make it power up again! I hope Nikon has a superb repair support system.

    Great Features...

    This camera has wonderful features. In time, I will learn how to use them correctly. The only downfall is that if you don't use the features correctly, you have a bad photo. Lost out many times because of this. Need a comprehensive how-to video for these features. If you put it on Auto mode, most of the time you'll get great photos. Doesn't work in all situations though. My Kodak was easier to use than this one. But I'll keep at it though. It's worth it in the long run.

    Great deal on a good camera

    This Nikon Coolpix is a great camera for the price. It takes great pictures, and has a lot of features. I believe it is easy to use but it did not come with any instructions. If it had I would give it 5 stars.
