Tech tips: the locations of the square mounting holes in stamp formed stake pockets varies slightly from one pocket to another. Also, the square shank of carriage bolts is longer than stake pocket material thickness. Without punching square receiving holes in a steel frame, use of carriage bolts to mount the pockets in that material would result in loose pockets.
