    Welding protection in the High Desert of the Great American Southwest.

    Being in the High Desert of the Great American Southwest, it is almost impossible to wear leather for welding. With temperatures in the 90s to 110+ one would succumb to heat exhaustion very quickly. So while looking for an alternative solution for protection while welding & cutting, I have found that these lightweight cloth jackets give ample protection yet allowing one to stay relatively cool in the worst desert heat. The jacket comes with pockets that are in all the right places and sized for the work at hand, It also has a closing collar that prevents slag and other hot stuff from going down your neck. Not only comfortable in the worst heat the are lighter and much less expensive than the traditional leather ones. That makes these jackets the ones to have.

    Buy it, you won't be sorry.

    This is great material and great quality at a super-great price. I also am a large in everything, but thinking i may want to heavy up the underclothing in cold climate, I decided to go x-large. Great choice. The x-large is really a perfect size because it's not too big normally, it's actually perfect and has a mid-range snap adjustment if you want to make it a little slimmer. Anyway, there's plenty of room to heavy up the underclothing without looking huge. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

    Size chart is off.

    I am 6ft 200 pounds. Lage tall is ideal for me due to length of my arms, so buy xl when i have to. While its a good value no doubt, if you have long arms one size over wont be enough to cover your wrists. My tig gloves dont go up high enough to prevent a coal from getting under. Good value, size chart is however slightly off. Go bigger than normal, but its a good value.

    This jacket is very comfortable and nice fitting collar for added protection. the snaps work well and work much better than buttons would. I really like the pockets on the inside instead of on the outside.

    FR or Not?

    dont think i would risk getting burnt up with this light jacket as my only protection. this one collects lint but looks decent and protects the neck. better windbreaker then weld jacket. the blue one is much better
