The last couple of purchases, I've gone with plain brown box units, and before that, with spindles that came in fancy boxes. All look the same. None are genuine Cub Cadet -- I can't see paying the price. Most recent purchases all have grease fittings, which seem to border on useless, as the bearings at the top and bottom of the shaft are sealed. Open them up and grease the shaft manually.
