First, you need to open the knife, it does have that groove. After that you need to use your nail and grab the end of the blade and thus lift it. In the 4th photo you can see that there is no nail groove, the long line that you see there is perhaps supposed to be a substitution for the goove but it is so shallow, that it is useless.
