        Did the Job but not the greatest.

        This fixed my broken flex pipe without having to replace the entire exhaust pipe assembly. This was quick and easy. considering the alternative. I did have two problems though. The first problem is the included flange gasket did not fit the bolt pattern that my original had. The large hole in the gasket where the exhaust flows through was the right size, but the holes for the bolts were off. I had to modify the gasket in order to use it. The second problem is with the steel rod that is welded on the pipe to support it from the rubber hanger. The part of the rod that goes through the rubber hanger is too long. It is hitting on the body of the vehicle, and is causing a rattle. I would like to cut some of it off, but It's in a hard to get to spot, so I must live with the rattle for now. I ...

        Wrong size exhaust gasket causes leakage problems.

        This method is probably easier than replacing the entire Y pipe, but it did not go easily. The exhaust gasket is too large. The existing pipe is 2" diameter and the hole in the new exhaust gasket is larger than that, so it will never seal. Make sure that you save your old gasket to reuse and even then it still won't be the best because the new mating flange also has too large of a hole. This isn't the replacement pipe's fault, but there are heat shield welds on the upstream portion of the existing pipe right where you must fit over it. To fit the new pipe over this area, you must grind off these welds. The upper weld is extremely difficult to reach unless you have something like a die grinder. Be prepared.
