A life changing technology that's thousands of years old.

Hard Butter. You know you can't spread hard butter on your bread. You scrape or chop hunks off your stick of butter and use it to tear holes in your bread and then pretend you prefer ripped up bread with hunks of butter deposited randomly across the craggy surface. How did we even start putting butter on bread when this is the outcome? Well, the people who invented butter didn't have refrigerators. They left their butter out all day. They also lived a thirty year lifespan because of the easy spread of disease. But someone found a solution. I don't know who. This particular design appears to be french, but I imagine that the principle was developed in China, because, well, it's China. I mean, the dish is a china dish, which comes from China. So the question is does it work? The ...

    Attractive but WORTHLESS.

Nicely made but WORTHLESS! Butter falls out no matter what I do. Will give away as a decorative item. Bought a different style that does not suspend the butter over water. Not sure if all brands of these are as poorly designed but won't buy several to find out! Spend your money elsewhere!

  • Wonderful Product to keep Butter Soft and Safe!

I learned about the "butter bell" when I saw a video online. I hate hard butter and in milder weather always kept some butter on the counter for spreading, but worried about it getting too warm or unsafe for consumption. This product is the perfect solution! It keeps the butter room temperature and easy to spread, every day I dump the existing water and add cool water. We love real butter at our house and use this butter crock daily! I would recommend this for yourself or as a useful gift! Looks pretty on the counter and much less expensive than the European original and works just as well!

  • Christmas Gift for Mom

I got this as a Christmas gift for my mom because she mentioned how she has to buy a tub of spreadable butter along with regular butter for baking. Even then she'd have to leave the spreadable butter out to soften. I thought this would be a money and time saver as well as make me the best daughter ever. I haven't given it to her yet but I know these are reliable because they've been used to keep butter fresh since before refrigeration. Around the holidays, it's hard to find one at a reasonable price because they're such practical gifts. But if you look, you can find one under $20 and it's a product you could use for a lifetime. I would 100% recommend.
