For a new pen, it came with some unexpected micro scratches around the pen shaft where the cap rest. Would have given 5 stars for item description had it not had the micro scratches. It is as stated .....It is Raw Brass .... a soft metal that does scratch ..... No coating or or protectant ...... When it starts to patna the micro scratches will disappear and the finish will become dull to take on an antique brass look. To me it is like buying a picture frame built from recycled barn wood and criticising it for looking old. The sub 5 star rating goes on my account and not Fishers for a description I think was accurate.
