It's more like a sweat or T-shirt fabric, the kind that will stretch out in time. The waist band is over 8 inches wide and has to be folded down in half...I see why they call it "foldable." It adds to the thickness of your waist when you fold it over, though. I'll keep it, but I'm glad I waited to see how this one was before t would have ordered the other colors. The color not as light as the picture, it's darker and more olive.
