    I am so happy with my purchase. The cassette player works as intended to play tapes. I was overjoyed to hear family members talking and singing on a memento tape I have. I haven't used the player to convert the tape to Mp3 yet, so can't comment on that part. The sound quality was good enough and acceptable to me. Don't expect a full bodied stereo sound: this player is not on that level. Like I said, it works well enough to listen to the tape and I am happy about that!

    Looks just like what was pictured. Works great to play tapes, haven't tried to convert anything yet as I have to purchase some more portable USB devices. Price was right and product is brand new with all needed instructions. Very pleased with the shipping. Will add more when I try to convert a cassette.

    The first cassette tape I put in and played, it destroyed. Further examination showed me the uptake capstans are not powerful enough to collect the tape after it has passed the tape head so it ate the tape. This happened in both directions. Junk! Too much trouble to return.

    Works good for the money.

    I have put 12 tapes through it so far. It seems to work ok. I tried a different brand, and this one works way better. It takes a little bit to get the hang of it. For instance, the recording doesn't stop when the tape stops. If I am not there when the tape stops, to stop the recording onto the USB, I just use Audacity to edit the mp3 and remove the dead air on the end. It is good enough for me. I wasn't doing music, just old recorded stories from family members. So far I am pleased. Sometimes the tape skips a little bit, but once I found out that tapes lose their lubrication over time, and lubricated my tapes, I didn't have that issue.

    Not worth it, unless you plan to modify it

    The amount of noise from the mechanism that bleeds through into the recording is so bad to make it essentially unusable. I've never heard such a poor quality cassette recording, the noise level essentially drowns out most sounds. Buy a used device with a decent mechanism, these cheap modern knockoffs are horrible. That said, there is a lot of room inside the case for modifications and the electronics look very simple -- the system is powered via 5 volts, and there is an easy break out for line level and speaker signals. As a voice recorder or recorder of any kind, this machine is basically unusable though.

    Awesome Portable Cassette Player!

    This portable cassette player is a wonder! Every feature works well as described. Sound quality is clear, volume doesn't get very high, but it's reasonable. All in all it works very well recording and play back. I love the option to add my content onto a USB and upload it in Mp3 format. Definitely a modern take on an old classic. It comes nicely packaged with an instruction manual. I am very pleased with this device. The only reason for the loss of a star is that there is no AC adapter with it. So I had to wait to use and test it (the cassette player) until one (an AC adapter power cord) could be procured. That and any external microphone must be purchased separately or you can use C batteries to power the device. It is noted in the description that the device comes without them. This is ...

    Too soon to tell

    I have only tried the recording feature, and the quality of the digital sound produced is surprisingly good, as good, or maybe better than playing the cassette itself. not sure about how to put multiple cassettes on a drive, and separating them, if that's possible, then this is a great device, need someone smarter than me to do it. Have not used it enough to understand all of its great qualities or limitations.

    Just like in the old days with a twist

    I've been transferring old tapes to my computer, I have no experience using the USB features so far, because I use high-quality Lavry Blue converters to do the Analog to Digital conversion. So far I think this is a great product.
