You can hear with the earpiece and talk with mic/PTT. I did replace the screw with one that has some grip. The attached screw is smooth and will require a flathead screwdriver to keep the serv kit attached to the radio. This maybe an issue if you are not using the serv kit all the time. I use the mic attachment for duty use and serv kit while working details/low profile.
