The carrying strap is elastic so it slides right over the mat and stays in place. The condition of the mat has a great not slip on the underside and for the value of the mat i'm satisfied. Also the color is pink which I couldn't find many thick mats that had the pink color. Thank you, I'm glad I was able to find this yoga mat.
