I knocked off a star for description b/c the seller listed the item as new with defects, but when I inquired, he was quick to respond and very forthcoming about the fact that these were used with normal wear and tear. He failed to mention that the straps had been replaced with some sort of DIY rubber (maybe a bike tire tube), but he may not have realized. I was thrilled to find that these are the uncommon blue-green color not black as I originally thought.

    SRAM Chains are Smooth !

    A good chain is essential to the drive train. This one is good for 5/6/7/8 speeds, and I just tested it out on an old 5 speed cog. Worked Great ! I'm glad they're making new chains for old bikes. No problem with the new chain on a used cog. Chain tool worked fine on the rivets too. SRAM makes good bike parts !

    Perfect for the $

    Chain is exactly what was needed to replace the chain on my wif's older mountain bike. I have used SRAM chains for years, and have found them to be of outstanding quality in every case. In particular, the power link is a real nice feature!
