      Pentair SolarTouch controller seems perfect.

      I replaced a malfunctioning Pentair SunTouch controller with a nice, new, Pentair SolarTouch controller. It seems to do exactly what I need, control the temperature of my pool by heating with solar panels in the daytime, and cooling if necessary at night, using the solar panels as radiators. Installation was pretty easy. Places to attach connections on the control board are well-labeled. Setting up the control program should be straight-forward with the nice operating instructions provided. However, for me being used to the SunTouch, it took some getting used to. The old SunTouch did everything, including run-times. The new SolarTouch only controls the valve to send water to the solar panels, or if warm enough, directly back to the pool.       Informative displays, gives you full operational control

      I was having problems with my old controller feeding cold water into the pool, and it had no means of telling me what it thought the temperatures were in the pool and on the roof. When I metered out the thermistors, they seemed OK. This model tells you with the push of a button what it thinks the temps are, and helped me diagnose an intermittent short that made the roof look like it was 300° but only at night. This model also has two ports that can trigger two automatic Jandy valves, which I had to do with a customer relay in the old controller, and it has a lot more programmable features than the other ever had. I'm totally glad I bought up and got this unit.

      Works great, not easy to install

      Everything works perfectly. Easy to use. Also has good built in diagnostics of open or shorted temp sensors. However, difficult to install, since temp sensors are connected to an internal circuit board with very small access points in an awkward position. More accessible connector points would be better. Same problem for the valve actuator connection. Requires a connector plug normally on the actuator cable to plug into the internal circuit board, but previous installation had no connector, just wire ends. More problems to deal with!! Once set up, worked perfectly.

      Simple replacement of old unit.

      Worked perfectly to replace my heliotrope controller. The seller was very responsive and sent me specific wiring info pictures and links to purchase the connectors I would need to make the connections. Seems to work very well. It's nice having the digital display of temp in my pool as well as the solar collectors.

      It needs a simplified Pentair VSF hook up diagram.

      The instructions are sketchy. For example they don’t show a simplified Pentair VSF (line1;Line2, Ground) nothing else connects except: Sensors & RS-485 connector. That is all you need, and none of the three wiring diagrams show that. BTW, if it were up to my I’d prefer an old fashioned dial to adjust temperature. Too much button work, but it is what it is.
