The adhesive backing is not on the magnet. There was a strip of round double-sided adhesive stickers that you only applied to the magnets that you use. If you wanted to use some of the magnets without the adhesive, then you didn't have to apply the adhesive. They were the right magnets for my job, which was to use on a magnetic white board. No issues - great, THANKS!!
