Perfect pellet for hunting small game in rural area's. 99% lead free means, safe for animals to eat hunting scraps, no worries of accidental lead poisoning of animals that may eat what you don't use. Because this pellet does not have the shape of a typical pellet called "diablo" (hour glass shape) It will fly further & at a more flat trajectory, while maintaining velocity at further distances. They will not slow down as quickly as a diablo style pellet from a deflection or a miss. Needs power to be effective.
Shooting from a stock Remington Express Synthetic .22 (750 fps) and they wouldn't penetrate a 1/2 inch piece of plywood at 15 yards. After adding the Archer Airguns XMV tunekit it will penetrate the 1/2 inch at 15 yards. The .22 Remington Express hollow points were blowing clean through the 1/2 inch at 15 yards before the tunekit. Good quality but there are better pellets out there in terms of accuracy and power for my rifle. Longer than many, won't work in magazines. Fly fast, penetrate deep without deforming.
These are longer than other pellets and will not function in the magazine of my Urban 22, so I use a hemostat and insert them one at a time. They fly faster and hit harder than lead pellets and penetrate deeper without mushrooming. I have been shooting at a backstop made of flattened gutter steel, four layers of 22 gauge galvanized steel, and lead pellets simply dent the steel while these will penetrate 2-3 layers before being deflected. When shooting English sparrows (as all good Americans should) I have shot clean through the great bone and spine without the pellet stopping. Same with ground squirrel skulls. A formidable penetrator and if your gun is dialed in, worth the price with every shot. Loose fitting, but will buy again
Heavy weight pellets good for up to rabbit possibly raccoon if you get a good heart or head shot. Loads easy but not really tight fitting. I keep keep have to the barrel up to keep it from falling out the tip. It is a good rifle from the 50's and was barely used at all so I know the rifling in the barrel is not worn.
