    It turned out not to an issue with my carburetor. My coil became loose and was rubbing against the flywheel, causing a build up of "crud". Once the coil terminals were cleaned, the mower began working again. Does my old carb still work on the mower, I don't know as I just left the new one on and kept the old one as a back up.
